Our Mission:

Rhythm Tap Hall of Fame, a tax exempted 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was established in Oakland, California in 1999.   Rhythm Tap Hall of Fame's mission:  To Preserve the American Heritage in the Performing Arts.  The organization help preserve the Ameican Heritage by educating the public on cultural awareness, and history of various art forms with  emphasis on 'Rhythm Tap Dancing" traditional - as well as modern.  While preserving the American Heritage, the organization provides technical training, and consulting services to underprivileged youth, adults, and seniors through workshops, and community events.

look forward to continue to educate our youth, adults, and seniors, present scholarhips to further education, and honor our professional artists by inducting their talent into the "Hall of Fame'.


 Our Accomplishments:

Rhythm Tap Hall of Fame received funding from Corporate, Private Foundations, and donations from local business, individuals, and volunteers.  With these funds the organization has been able to complete the following projects:

                 Rhythm Tap Classes in Oakland's Recreation Centers and Group Homes - Instructors Ron Gill, Linda Flagel, and Lee Mays
                 Cazadera Dance Camp Scholarship for students
                 West Oakland Art Form Project
                 Staff's trip to St. Louis Tap Festival to film Master Tap Dancers
                 Trip to Los Angeles to film interview to Legendary "Fayard Nicholas" of the Nicholas Brothers
                 Innovate Teachers Tap Dance Workshop instructed by Master Tap Dancer "Skip Cunninghm"
                 Thankgiving Food Drive - where youth was donated Certificates to dance studios
                 Passes to see "Savion Glover" at Golden Gate Theater, San Francisco, & Marin Theater in Marin
                 Passes to see 'Gregory Hines' at Marin Theater
                 Passes to see 'Michael Flatley, Feet of Flames', Riverdance in San Jose
                 Annual Fundraiser celebrating "National Tap Dance Day" in May
                 Annual Community celebration at the "Art & Soul" Festival, Oakland, CA
                 Dance History TV Program - Youth History Game Show
                 Performing Arts Newsletter - At Risk Youth computer class
                 Fundraiser - 'Nat Bolden's Blues Revue", Yuba City, CA

                 Rhythm Tap Hall of Fame Benefit in collaboration with Sickle Cell Foundation:

With these accomplishments, and the organizations' approved qualifications,  Rhythm Tap Hall of Fame was selected by the Oakland Economic Development Department to manage the African American Cultural Center in North Oakland.
